As the trees begin to bud and the daffodils blossom, The Hollies brightens with the colours of spring’s cut flowers, spring baskets, a bounty of bulbs, and plants in a beautiful palette of colours. Hanging baskets and potted plants are both popular options of the season.
Mother’s Day fills the Farm Shop with a great array of gifts: cards, flowers, chocolates, plants and more. Easter brings an even more extensive selection of chocolates – Easter eggs of course – as well as more cards and gifts, while the locally baked Hot Cross Buns, Easter cake and Simnel cake are not to be missed.
In late spring the best English produce starts to come through: vine tomatoes, locally grown asparagus, new Cheshire potatoes and particularly delicious hen eggs.
Spring lamb is available from April and if the balmy weather arrives in April as it often does, the Butchery has a great range of lip-smacking BBQ meats including kebabs, sausages and burgers.
A selection of New Zealand sauvignon and fruit Proseccos are favourites for spring.
