Social Responsibility

HFS Tarporley Ltd aims to create a culture of social responsibility with its employees and to promote this ethos through its customer-focused businesses including The Hollies Farm Shop.

We will encourage people to look out for each other and to show a caring attitude across all aspects of life.  We will do this through demonstrating caring actions such as looking after the needs of our staff and supporting local good causes (e.g. charities and community groups).

This past year (2023-2024) we have been fortunate enough to support a range of good causes in Cheshire.

  1. Oliver Abel’s Wish

We asked followers across our Social Media platforms to nominate a charity close to their heart for The Hollies to donate a Giant Cocoaben Company Easter Egg to. Team Hollies were truly touched by the story behind Oliver Abel’s Wish, a charity set up to raise funds for supporting loved ones through bereavement, and providing grieving parents with special teddy bears that contained a recording of a loved one’s heartbeat.

Jilly and her family collected the egg and commented:

‘We are so pleased to have met everyone today at the hollies and thrilled to have won the egg. We can’t thank you enough for this charitable donation which we can use to raise even more money. Much love, Jillyxxx’

  1. Hollies Voucher Giveaway

Nine local charities and good causes were chosen from our social media followers suggestions and they received vouchers redeemable at The Hollies Farm Shop.  The winners were:

  • The Joshua Tree
  • St Luke’s Hospice
  • Lenny Tech Foundation
  • Tiny Steps
  • Halton Haven Hospice
  • Down Syndrome Cheshire
  • Cheshire Sighthound Rescue
  • Ark Angels Chester
  • Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

HFS Tarporley will continue to work with local charities and community groups to support the work that they do in the area, and we’re very grateful to all of them for their support of disadvantaged people.

We will continue to use our public reach through the Farm Shop and social media to promote these good causes, to raise awareness and to encourage donations where appropriate.
