Only meat from farms certified by the ‘Welsh Salt Marsh Lamb’ Scheme can rightly sell under the name.
The strict criteria in terms of the land flooded regularly by the ride, the grazing time on the ‘saltings’ and the husbandry of the animals, ensure that the product is of the very highest quality and worthy of its worldwide reputation.

Lambs graze happily on a combination of plants full of nutrients and minerals found only on the Welsh Salt Marsh, providing incredible taste, texture and traceability.

You can be assured of an outstanding eating experience and the meat that is tender, moist and light with unique and wonderfully subtle flavours.

Our Master Butcher Andrew Vernon recommends slow cooking the lamb and serving it with fresh market vegetables and COOK dauphinoise potatoes. Alternatively if the weather carries on the way it has been, why not be adventurous and make some Salt Marsh Lamb Kebabs for the bbq?
