As May begins, the opportunities for fresh and local increase!  Claremont Farm’s delicious asparagus is delivered to The Hollies Farm Shops within minutes of being cut from the fields, on a daily basis, whilst crops last.

Today, Edward Horton’s Cheshire new potatoes were harvested and delivered to The Hollies Farm Shops within minutes. Edward Horton’s farm sits 5 miles away, between both Farm Shops. As the first harvest of the new Cheshire potato season, they are creamy and the skin just washes off.  Delicious boiled with fresh sprigs of mint and a knob of butter.

These delicious fresh offerings from local fields, combined with succulent Welsh Spring lamb and the locally produced – Mrs Darlington’s mint sauce, is a taste sensation.  The lighter evenings, the warmer air combined with the fresh and fabulous local produce, makes May one of my most favourite months of the year.  A month filled with freshness and colour.
