Love Lamb Week
Our Butchery departments at Little Budworth and Lower Stretton will be celebrating Love Lamb Week from the 1st to the 7th of September.
The lamb you see in our Butchery counters comes from Llanrwst on the Conwy estuary in North Wales, where lush pastureland, sweet grasses and natural pure drinking water make for an ideal setting for raising top quality lamb. Welsh lamb has taken an age to perfect. The landscape on which it is produced has been moulded over millions of years. The lamb is reared by farmers who use techniques that have been handed down over many generations. Sheep farming has shaped the British landscapes we love and eating home-produced lamb helps sheep farmers to stay in business and continue caring for the land in an environmentally sustainable way.
“Love Lamb Week is a fantastic opportunity for farmers to really showcase the high-quality lamb we produce here in Britain. It’s not only a great source of important nutrients, but its unique flavour has made it a firm favourite among British families.”
Our Butchery teams at both Little Budworth and Lower Stretton have a wide variety of lamb cuts and products including the lamb loin with spinach & feta. Why not try this with some boiled new potatoes, fresh green beans and some Mrs Darlington’s mint sauce for a lovely September dinner?
The Lamb and Mint Grills are also a popular choice. Try them with a dollop of homemade tzatziki made by combining natural yoghurt, chopped mint, grated cucumber, minced garlic, salt & pepper. Delicious!
